Most gold-plated jewelry can't survive a shower, let alone a workout. The plating flakes, the color fades, and eventually your skin turns green. We didn't think that was a fair trade for something that's supposed to be simple to wear every day, so we set out to build pieces that actually hold up.
Every Groundworks piece starts with 316L stainless steel, the same grade used in surgical instruments, finished with genuine PVD gold plating that bonds to the metal at a molecular level. That means it's waterproof and tarnish-resistant by design, not by luck. Shower with it on, work out in it, wear it every single day, and it still looks the way it did the day it arrived.
